Straight Picks
This is by far the simplest type of pick you can make.
A straight pick is where you pick one outcome, and one outcome only. With the Cleveland/Toronto matchup again, let’s look at all of the possible outcomes based on what we’ve covered so far:
- Cleveland Moneyline (ie. they win the matchup outright)
- Toronto Moneyline (same thing)
- Cleveland to cover the spread
- Toronto to cover the spread
- The final score going Over the total
- The final score going Under the total
So, a straight pick is when you pick only one of those possible outcomes. If you pick the outcome correctly, then you win. If you pick the outcome incorrectly, then you lose. Yep - it’s that simple!
Takeaway: straight picks are when you pick one outcome only.
